Beacon Arts
The charity formerly known as Sticklepath Fireshow.

Delivering community arts projects in and around Sticklepath, South Tawton, South Zeal, Belstone and their surrounds.
Organising and supporting creative projects where participants work alongside professionals to create and exhibit their own art work.
Other considerations important to our local and community based ethos are the use of professionals from across the south west, utilising Beacon village venues to reduce travel for participants, enabling young people without transport to take part in workshops local to where they live. We also organise lunchtime childcare to enable young people attend full day workshops during the school holidays.
Beacon Arts joins in with popular local events, for example giving children the opportunity to perform at Dartmoor Folk Festival in 2018 and 2019 and South Zeal Carnival for many years; where we were proud winners of the Walking Group cup at South Zeal Carnival in 2019.
Belstone Youth Group
Belstone Youth Group is a fun group who usually get together in the school holidays for activities around the village; this can be group walks, cycling, treasure hunts, crafts in the village hall or holding cake sales to help raise money for the group.

1st South Zeal are an active Scout Group providing Scouting to young people from the age of 6 to 14 in our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts Sections. Young people aged 14-18 can join our partnered District Explorer Unit (North Dartmoor Explorers).
Scouting contributes to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
We love having fun outdoors, camping, trying new challenges and adventurous activities, learning new skills and making friends.
Volunteering:
All our activities are run by volunteers, who might join us because they want to:
Try something new
Make friends
Spend time with their children – or gain experience with young people
Do something good for their community and themselves
Keep their bodies and brains active and happy – whether that's by scaling mountains, sharing skills or serving tea
All end up making a huge difference to young people's lives – gifting them with skills for life, and learning a whole lot about themselves along the way.
